The 2008 Presidential Campaign Workbook

Synopsis

All of the workbooks in the new "MyPolitics Series" allow instructors to bring the current political season right into the classroom, making it relevant, engaging, andassignableto students.  The first in the series,The 2008 Presidential Campaign Workbook provides dynamic, easy-to-assign week-by-week interactive exercises -- for the entire fall semester -- that help students follow, research, and participate in the 2008 presidential election in real-time.     The exercises within the workbook utilize a wealth of internet resources to draw students into active engagement with the events of the 2008 presidential campaignas they unfold.  For instance, as students prepare to view the presidential debates, the workbook allows them to review dramatic moments from past presidential debates, learn what to look for in the current debate, and keep track of the debate with a “debate scorecard.”  Other exercises help students to predict the results of the electoral college and Congressional “swing-seats,” track campaign finances, evaluate the quality of media coverage, and more.
