This Oxford edition of the original story of Sweeney Todd is the movie tie-in edition for the winter 2007 film version starring Johnny Depp and directed by Tim Burton. While the story of Sweeney Todd has been told many times, perhaps most notably in the musical with lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, this edition is the first time the original tale has been reprinted since it was serialized in The People's Periodical in 1846-7. The story of mucder and pie-making, this is a classic of British horro writing.
