Synopsis

In using the work "looking" in the title of his introductory college- level film text, Barsam (emeritus, film studies, Hunter College) hopes to demonstrate that students need to actively examine relationships of form and content in cinema. Primarily focused on introducing film analysis, the text does include some discussion of film history, theory, and production. The CD-ROM contains 15 illustrative film clips.
