Psychology : the core

by Rathus Spencer A.

Synopsis

In order to fill the need of professors that want to concentrate on the true basics of psychology and want the opportunity to pick and choose the concepts covered in their course, Psychology: The Core was developed. In addition to focusing on the basics, we have also focused on making this text one of the most inexpensive introductory texts on the market.

Psychology: The Core is Harcourt's first truly customizeable Introductory Psychology text. This 4-color product contains 18 modules that can be customized to the preference of the instructor. Each module can be combined to make a brief book that succinctly and inexpensively covers the basics of introductory psychology. It's up to the professor. Each module includes the basic material needed to understand the concept presented. By focusing on these basics it allows professors to bring in extra materials of importance to them and keeps the students focused on the main points of the subject.

However, if professors want to add more information and activities to the text, we have options for that too. We have many ancillaries that can be customized or packaged with this text. The supplements, such as Applying Psychology to Everyday Life, Thinking and Writing About Psychology, Primary Sources in Psychology, and the Study Guide can all be included with the text in order to support the course in the ways the professor feels are important.
