American Education: A History presents the history of American Education from precolonial times to the present in a comprehensive, seamless, engaging manner. Comprehensive, balanced, and well written, the text provides an objective overview of historical events alongside thoughtful analysis and integration as it presents each major period in the development of American education against the broader backdrop of national and world events. Each chapter is tightly locked to the preceding and succeeding chapters so that the story of American education unfolds in a seamless manner. This is the only text to explore Native American traditions (including education) prior to Colonization.
