Newsflash
for families of students with dyslexia: Learning Ally's acclaimed
YES! Program
is launching a groundbreaking, family-focused series of public events in four states this summer. The YES! Program has been drawing attention and praise since its inception in Colorado several years ago. YES! stands for
Youth Examples of Self-Advocacy
, and truly lives up to its name as a youth-driven mentoring program that inspires students with confidence, boosts their self esteem, and empowers them with advocacy skills to help them flourish in school and beyond.
Families based in

,
Utah
,
New Jersey
and
Massachusetts
are invited to join our
Power of Self Advocacy
workshops in which the YES! Ambassadors (a highly accomplished group of teen mentors) will teach students how to become strong self-advocates in school -- and show parents how to support the process. Through energetic presentations, skits and more, the Ambassadors will share their experiences, stories, examples and tips on self advocacy. Students will break up into groups to further their explore personal gifts, challenges and helpful solutions in the classroom. At the same time, the parents will meet to discuss ways to guide and support their students as they learn to effectively self-advocate. Each workshop will conclude with instructions for students to create an outline for their own individualized presentation.
Schedule:
COLORADO -- August 13
UTAH -- August 20:
NEW JERSEY -- September 10:
MASSACHUSETTS -- September 10
(location TBD)
