Professor Steve GrahamLearning Ally has partnered with AIM Academy to present AIM’s acclaimed Research to Practice Symposium, featuring leading expert presenters in the fields of education, special education, literacy and brain function all in one historic interactive event, live from AIM's campus in Philadelphia and broadcast nationally online on March 16. The Research to Practice Symposium will be available in its entirety for sixty days following the event, so attendees will be able to revisit any speaker, session or chat; as well as to take the research and content presented during the event back to their classroom, to advance student achievement. One of the featured speakers will be Steve Graham Ed.D., Mary Emily Warner professor, Arizona State University, Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College. Dr. Graham will share a meta-analysis that examines if students with LD differ from their typically developing peers in terms of writing skills, writing processes, motivation for writing, knowledge about writing, as well as specific aspects of the written product. In addition to Dr. Graham, participants will hear from and interact with the following renowned experts:
  • Brett Miller Ph.D., director of reading, writing and related learning disabilities program; National Institute for Child Health & Human Development
  • Ken Pugh Ph.D., director and president of research; senior scientist, Haskins Laboratory, Yale University.
  • Nancy Hennessy M.Ed., Director of Academic & Professional Practices, AIM; Past President of International Dyslexia Association.
  • Laurie Cutting Ph.D., director of education and brain research lab; Vanderbilt University
