"I love that my daughter's learning and enjoyment of books is not inhibited by her reading speed or ability," says
Learning Ally
mother Jennifer from Denver. She loves it so much, in fact, that she decided to take action - training for and running a 5K in her daughter's honor! It was the
Colfax Denver 5K
, and she ran via a partnership with Learning Ally. Each step she took helped raise funds for the non-profit that serves children like Jennifer's daughter. "Learning Ally has made it possible for my daughter to read the books she is really interested in," explains Jennifer. "Words can't describe how wonderful it feels to watch her become more of an independent learner." After it was all over, Jennifer says the advice she gives other runners is the same as she gives to parents of struggling readers. "Don’t give up," she says. "Keep pushing until you get the resources & support that you need."
