It’s been nineteen years since we last heard from Harry. Now he’s back in
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, the eighth story in the
Harry Potter series and first to be written for the stage. It premiered in London’s West End on July 30, 2016 and the next day made available in bookstores around the world. Today, just one month later, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is available in
VOICEtext from
Learning Ally, a U.S. not-for-profit specializing in audiobooks for adults and children with
certified print disabilities!
This book was read by
Austin Studio volunteer
Graham Duncan. Graham was born in the U.K., and although he isn't a professional actor, he does many unique and entertaining voices for the different characters in the play. Check some of them out in this short video:
Our recorded version of the book is slightly more than 7 hours long. In production time that’s:
- 2 weeks to produce the text files and find the right voice
- 30 volunteer hours for Graham to prepare and then read
- 10 hours for the Austin studio staff and volunteers to quality check the audio
- Another 4+ hours for Graham to edit
Thank's to Graham's dedication to this project, the recording all happened in slightly less than 2 weeks! We are very grateful to him, and hope everyone enjoys the play!
