The Case for Practice

Psychological science has proven that practice is essential for retention and learning. The importance of practice for mastery of literacy skills is well-documented. Dyslexic students are known to require much more practice than typical readers. In this session, participants will engage in a brief, interactive review of the science of practice and then review some case studies that demonstrate these principles as applied to dyslexia intervention.

About the Presenters
Leta is a dyslexia therapist with 22 years of experience. She has a B.S. in Elementary Education, an M.Ed. in Dyslexia Therapy and has been an Educational Specialist at William Carey University. She is currently a Lexercise Teletherapist and a Doctoral Candidate in Special Education at Vanderbilt University.
Chad has a degree in biomedical engineering from NC State University and an MBA from INSEAD, where he also served as Executive Director of the International Center for Entrepreneurship. He is co-founder and CEO of Lexercise.
