Lisa Kendall-Brown
Reading and Math Interventionist
Lisa Kendall-Brown of Mullinville, KS, is a reading and math interventionist for Kiowa County Schools, Greensburg, KS. She started as a regular classroom teacher, but after six years Lisa was convinced by her administrator to take on the new position of interventionist. This position allowed her to work one-on-one with students who struggle to stay at grade level. By creating a welcoming environment in her classroom, it often becomes a safe space for many, helping to develop relationships with her students. She believes that relationships are the basis of every classroom. Lisa has a true passion for reading and loves to help share that love with her students. She has become an advocate for those with dyslexia as well other learning differences. The Learning Ally program has helped many of her students be able to enjoy many books that they would not normally be able to. She has made it her goal to help as many students as she can improve their reading knowledge and confidence. Students experiencing that success in reading can use that in all areas of their lives.
