Bina Clifford
District Achievement and Instructional Specialist, Bronx High School Districts 8, 10, & 11
After working in the private sector for thirteen years, I decided to follow my true passion. It meant going back to school and earning the credentials to be a teacher.
The teaching experiences at Morris High School and High School for Violin and Dance prepared me to assume the position of an Assistant Principal at Bronx Expeditionary Learning High School. Five years later, I took the position of an Instructional Coach for a Network supporting eighteen schools providing support in the areas of instruction, intervention, academic policy, assessment, and data. To ensure the voice of high schools was heard, I took the position of the Measures of Student Learning (MOSL) coach. Two years later, I switched to a Bronx borough position providing support to all Bronx high schools as the ELA Instructional Lead. For eight years, I facilitated professional learning for teachers and provided in school support. As of last year, I support thirty-eight high schools in Bronx districts 8, 10, and 11.
