Dr. Kettisha M. Jones

National Board Member

Elected to the Learning Ally National Board in October 2023, Dr. Kettisha M. Jones (she/her) is a Senior Director for Ensemble Learning, a nonprofit with a mission to make education equitable for all multilingual learners.

Dr. Jones grew up as a military brat. From Prekindergarten to 12th grade, she attended schools in Georgia, South Carolina, Germany (for two tours), Kentucky, and Texas. For her postsecondary education, Dr. Jones earned a BA from Spelman College, M.Ed from the University of Houston, Superintendent Certification from Sam Houston University, and an Ed.D from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. As a Teach for America alumna, Dr. Jones credits innovative learning opportunities for her success as a career educator.

Throughout her career as an educator, Dr. Jones served in the Houston Independent School District as an elementary classroom teacher, middle school principal intern, high school assistant principal, and elementary principal. Although serving as a principal was her most favorite role, she advanced into central office administration as an Instructional Leadership Director for Tulsa Public Schools and an Assistant Superintendent of Elementary Education for the Pflugerville Independent School District. In both central office roles, she supported campus principals with coaching and supervision and appreciated the opportunity to build relationships that positively influenced teaching and learning through leadership.

Dr. Jones gained experience serving as a nonprofit board member at a local level. During the pandemic, she joined Learning Bridge, a nonprofit working to match children and youth in foster care with volunteer tutors. She currently provides leadership to maintain programming that significantly meets the needs of the participating students.

With an affiliation to three nonprofits that include the word "learning", clearly she is passionate about education. Ensemble Learning, Learning Bridge, and Learning Ally have worthy missions that touch her heart. Dr. Jones is honored to serve in roles that make a difference in the lives of children.
