Honoring Patriot Day

As we observe Patriot Day on September 11, we remember and honor the lives lost and the bravery shown on that day in 2001. It is also a time to reflect with students on the importance of resilience, unity, and empathy. Our audiobook library includes age-appropriate titles that help young readers understand the events of 9/11 and its lasting impact. These stories offer a meaningful way to support classroom discussions and deepen historical awareness.

A Legacy of Empowerment

At Learning Ally, we are incredibly proud of our storied history. This photo showcases a wonderful event that took place on May 19, 1961, when, on behalf of Recording for the Blind, Inc., President John F. Kennedy presented a Scholastic Achievement Award to Helen Vivian Aareskjold in the Oval Office at The White House, along with award recipient Cheryl Lynn Martin and her mother, Mrs. James Martin. The president of the organization at that time, Mrs. Frederick B. Payne, was also presented to President Kennedy at the ceremony. Today, our mission continues—to empower students who learn differently to succeed in school and beyond. We invite you to share Learning Ally with others and help us expand this mission to reach even more learners.

Join Us For Audiobook Office Hours

Wish you had more time to dive into audiobooks and how they can boost reading for your students? Tune into our Audiobook Office Hours, an interactive meeting on the first Thursday of each month (4 PM ET/1 PM PT). This is your direct line to our team, and we encourage you to bring questions and feedback. Our goal is to ensure you feel confident and empowered in using the Audiobook Solution to support your students and achieve your learning objectives.

From the Classroom

“Learning Ally has allowed my struggling readers to better engage with our texts we’re reading as a whole class so all students are reading grade level curriculum without having to struggle through a physical, higher level text.”
– Tamaron McKnight, Educator
