Dan Koken

Dan Koken is the Founder and CEO of Denver Test Prep (DTP), an education company with the unique mission of providing high impact tutoring for students at opposite extremes of the income spectrum. In addition to test prep and academic tutoring, DTP specializes in delivering customized reading intervention and executive functioning support programs for individual students and nonprofit organizations.

Originally from Colorado, Dan completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania and began his career as a Coro Fellow in California. He later attended the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Switzerland, where he obtained a Master of Arts in Development Economics. After teaching at a university in Ecuador and working as a microfinance practitioner in Paraguay, Dan moved to New York to serve as the Director of NYC Business Solutions for the city of New York as part of Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s administration. In this role, Dan helped to lead the city’s effort to provide support services to small businesses and entrepreneurs.
