Learning Ally’s Great Reading Games is a well-established reading competition designed to inspire your students to read and improve their literacy skills. Your school earns points for every page read, with top-performing schools and students winning exciting prizes. You can boost scores before the competition begins by encouraging reading through the Learning Ally Audiobook app. With curated book lists and support for you, it’s an engaging way to get your students excited about reading!

Celebrate Read Across America Day and Learning Ally’s Great Reading Games!

Your whole class is invited to embark on a literacy journey with author Krista Weltner at Learning Ally’s Great Reading Games Author Event! She’ll share her picture book series, Everyday Adventures with Molly and Dyslexia, inspired by her own experiences with dyslexia. This virtual event offers an inspiring look at storytelling, creativity, and the power of literacy in the classroom. Don’t miss this chance to connect and learn!

How do schools and students win?

The points you earn from the Boost-Up activity and your students’ reading activity in the Learning Ally Audiobook app will be combined to form your total score. You can track your progress on our leaderboards. Your school will be grouped into a bracket with other schools similar to yours.

Educators: Boost up your score before the games begin!

1000 points for every unique educator that adds a book to a student’s bookshelf (December 2, 2024 – December 31, 2024)
5000 points when 4 or more educators add a book to a student’s bookshelf (December 2, 2024 – December 31, 2024)

Students: Earn points for reading!

100 points for every day a student reads 20 minutes on a weekday
50 points for every day a student reads 20 minutes on a Saturday or Sunday
10 points for every page read
1 point for every student that you have reading

What do schools and students win?

$500 digital gift card for the top school in each bracket
$100 digital gift card for schools placing 2nd through 5th in each bracket
$50 digital gift card for schools placing 6th through 10th in each bracket
$50 digital gift card for the top 30 students in each grade level (10 in Elementary, 10 in Middle, and 10 in High School)
