Britton is a freshman studying engineering at the University of Tennessee. As a child with dyslexia, visual and auditory processing issues, he struggled with reading, writing and spelling. He loved it, however, when his mother would read books to him for hours on end. He discovered Learning Ally when he was 14 years old, working toward becoming an Eagle Scout and looking for an accessible version of the Boy Scout Handbook. His use of audiobook learning expanded to support all of his academic efforts, and he’s become a voracious reader as well. “My family has a saying: ‘Do you want to be known for your disability or your ability?’ For as long as I can remember, I have loved to build, design and create. Upon graduating, I hope to aid my community through solving various engineering problems.”
