Susan Ketterer, Dyslexia Specialist at Cross Oaks Elementary Schools

Susan is a dyslexia specialist at Cross Oaks Elementary School in Cross Roads, Denton ISD: Cross Roads, Texas. She has worked with students with dyslexia and other learning differences for over 14 years. Susan is currently completing her training to become a licensed Dyslexia Therapist and continue serving students on her campus and help foster their love of reading. Serving as the Braswell Zone Leader and helping the DISD Dyslexia Department to continue supporting students during a time of growth is important to her, as many more students continue to qualify for services. Susan focuses on making sure that families and staff understand what digging into a good book on Learning Ally can do to develop a struggling reader’s vocabulary, allow them to read at their level of comprehension, and be exposed to smooth, fluent reading. She works to help students grow and develop the improved skills and self confidence that they need to feel successful. Her belief is that working together as a team with the students and their families achieves the very best outcome for student achievement.
