Synopsis

Kraft and Furlong (both of the U. of Wisconsin at Green Bay) emphasize policy analysis in their textbook, using a public policy process model to explain the formation of policy. Some discussions of institutions and the motivations of stakeholders are included in the presentation of theory. After describing the methods of policy analysis, five chapters look at substantive policy issues, including economic, health care, welfare, education, and environmental policy.
