"My Kids Can't Read That!" How to Unlock Text to Read Right Now

Tuesday, January 31, 2023 2:00 PM (UTC-05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada) to Tuesday, January 31, 2023 3:00 PM (UTC-05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada)

Location: Online

In the midst of a changing literacy landscape where administrators are working double duty to align systems and structures to evidence-based practices of reading instruction in all grades, there is an overwhelming urgency that faces students and educators daily; students cannot read grade-level content that showcases increasing academic rigor. The immediacy of these issues is solvable, and when given access to text in the right modality, administrators can create quick wins that drive a boost to literacy culture.

Objectives of this presentation will include:

  • understanding the critical role of knowledge building while learning to read;
  • how to manage the demands of complex text at grade level; and
  • how to provide immediate access to text through multiple modalities.

Join us for this engaging webinar where Dr. Linda Baker (Tangipahoa Parish School District) and Dr. Gail Dalcourt (St. Martin Parish School District) discuss topics of particular interest to Louisiana educators.
