Colin Powell

Synopsis

A Bronze Star recipient for bravery under fire during the Vietnam War and a highly respected government adviser, Colin Powell so impressed associates at each step in his career that his name has been mentioned as a possible presidential candidate. Eventually rising to the rank of four-star general and chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Powell coordinated the successful American attempt to counter Iraqi forces in the Middle East in 1990 and 1991 (Operation Desert Storm).
