Location: Online

Research points to clear interventions for kids with dyslexia, but the evaluation process can be hazy. What’s evident is that for various reasons including lower expectations, Black children have fewer intensive resources to address dyslexia. An accurate diagnosis of dyslexia can be a game changer for all students, especially those more likely to be left behind if they fall short. This edWebinar will address the dyslexia evaluation process and the key principles that impact marginalized students that are under and misdiagnosed.

Attendees will learn:

  • Specific barriers to a dyslexia diagnosis
  • The historical perspective of testing and assessment
  • What types of tests are involved in a complete dyslexia evaluation
  • What skills should be measured in a complete dyslexia evaluation

This edWebinar will be of interest to K-12 teachers. There will be time for questions at the end of the presentation.
