Nominate an Educator for a National "Excellence in Teaching" Award

For the first time in our history, Learning Ally will give national recognition to educators who have made a tremendous difference in driving student success. Two teachers will be selected to receive our newly created Winnie Reitnouer Excellence in Teaching Award, and many others will receive public recognition on Learning Ally’s website and social media channels. Students, parents, educators and others are invited to nominate educators through December 31, 2015. Make your nomination now! Be creative with your submission. Winners will be chosen based on your recommendation and comments in response to the following three questions. Be sure to explain your relationship to the teacher (whether you are/were the teacher's student, a parent, co-teacher, supervisor, etc.)
  • How is this teacher a leader or a model in helping students with print disabilities?
  • How did this educator help you or other students with print disabilities achieve success?
  • How did the teacher cultivate a love of reading?
If you would like to submit pictures, videos or other materials along with your nomination, complete the form and note that you are submitting more materials. Then, email them to jFalke@LearningAlly.org with your name, your educator’s name and the name of their school. Prizes and recognition Two teachers will win a paid trip to Learning Ally’s Student Success and Achievement Summit on April 9, 2016 in Denver, Colorado. These two winners will also receive:
  • A $1,500 personal cash award
  • A $4,500 cash award they can administer for their school
  • Recognition in an audiobook recording
  • Conference passes to Spotlight on Dyslexia 2016
Many other educators will also be recognized as honorable mentions on our website and may receive other prizes or gifts.
